Montana: Outdoor Paradise

Montana has much to offer those who love the great
outdoors. There are snowy mountain peaks, and wild rides
on the rivers. Hunting, fishing, and camping opportunities
are plentiful. Here is a sampling of some of the more
popular attarctions.
Kayakers and rafters will enjoy the variety of paddling
experiences for all abilities on Montana rivers. Seek out
a qualified guide to assist you with finding the most
appropriate area for someone of your abilities and
experience to explore, and to point you toward some
of the magnificent sights only those who travel the
rivers can experience.
Cyclists will find miles of road and trail for their
pleasure. Adventure Cycling, which makes its home in
Montana and is the country's largest recreational cycling
association, can assist you with tour selection and
finding an appropriate guide if you wish.
Anglers and hunters especially like the Montana outdoors.
Numerous rivers and streams offer abundant fly-fishing
opportunities. Hunters have their choice of game here:
Elk, moose, big horn sheep, antelope, bear, and more. Just
remember to get all of the proper permits if you plan to
hunt or fish here.
If you love wildlife, but don't like to hunt or fish,
over one-third of the state is set aside as public land
for preserving the natural habitat of the native species
so that you, your children, and their children can enjoy
these magnificent creatures. Between Yellowstone National
Park in the south, and Glacier National Park in the north,
there are over 17 million acres of national forests, 12
wilderness areas, and 40 state parks in addition to the
two national parks.
