If you think that Panama is all about the Panama Canal
you~re missing out on a big part of this great place to
visit. The country of Panama is a great place to take your
next vacation and offers some of the best deep sea fishing
that you can find in Central America as well some of the
best reefs for snorkeling. Panama also has many vacation
packages that allow you to interact with the scenery and
the wildlife that is found here. If you are a bird watcher
you~ll spend many amazing hours in Panama seeing the most
amazing variety of colorful birds.
Seven tribes of indigenous people inhabit Panama, each with
their own heritage and culture. Spanish heritage is
celebrated throughout Panama, and you're sure to find
festivals, both planned and spontaneous.
If you like adventure, you'll find plenty of it when you
visit Panama. You can ride the rapids, study wildlife
habitats, swim in the warm Pacific Ocean or snorkel the
Caribbean reefs. You won't be bored and will look forward to
visiting many times. There are some areas that should be
visited only with an experienced guide. One such area is
Dari~n National Park. It's wild, uninhabited, and
fascinating. Contact a tour guide company that will take you
to Dari~n National Park while you're planning your Panama
vacation.
The ideal time for visiting Panama is during the dry season.
This would be from mid-December to mid-April. When it's the
rainy season, the humidity is too much for most people to
handle. Also the rain strikes in downpours that are short
and sudden, and liable to ruin your outdoor adventure. You
can reach some of the wilder areas only when it's the dry
season. There is one of the world's biggest parties in
Panama City in the carnival season. To attend, plan your
holiday around Ash Wednesday.
Among the other attractions that you won't want to miss, are
the Panama Canal, the Summit Botanical Gardens and Zoo, and
the Parque Nacional Metropolitana. One trip to Panama is all
it takes to keep you coming back for more.
